Urban public spaces have a considerable influence on the picture of cities and are of great importance for the urban culture and city life. Traditional urban public spaces including streets, squares, and parks have two major social functions: instrumental and expressive. This book was prepared due to understanding the role of public space on social relationships. This book was organized in three chapters. At chapter one was discussed about concepts and definition. Indeed it is literature review. In order to good organization book, in chapter two was explained about studied area (Iran), also, was studied about neighborhood concept in Iran. At finally in chapter three was analyzed about "FAHADAN" neighborhood in Yazd city. Also, were proposed strategies and policies in order to achieving good public space through urban design. On the other hand, in this chapter was presented action plans in FAHADAN neighborhood based on strategies and policies.

About the author










Academic Education's Reyhane Hoseinzade is urban design. Also,she is M.A degree now. So she has published papers with different case studies such as urban design, architecture, environmental science and urban social issues.this book has been calculated from her M.A thesis.She believed urban public space have the main role in social relationship.
