Grounded in the paradigmatic discourse of incarceration, this research introduces the call for social interaction to a quarantined sort of urban field. Thus it probes the expansion of virtual city of a prison inside the real city, first of all in its generic nature of the case, and then specifically in case of Rajaeeshahr Prison in Karaj. Just after analyzing current situation of Rajaeeshahr Prison, this book suggests merging strategies for re-introducing truth of crime to society. Position of architect in this field is obviously not defining the crime, but bringing corresponding questions to a social dialogue and rationalizing (also contextualizing) the punishment of the crime -while for the punishment the whole society is to be suffered. The research and conceptual design proposed in this book shed lights on the gap between political decisions and urban management and design. Therefor it should be useful for professionals and students researching on similar meta-disciplinary issues, while it is at the same time an exemplary practice for whom interested in applying phenomenology in architecture.
