The book gives you an early insight of what came to be in the Caribbean due to old English rule and piracy. It tells the tale a Jack Sparrow who is a pirate descended from English heritage which ultimately issues his demise. Due to the blessed nature of his being, many years later his spirit seem to have resurfaced in modern times. There is no certainty that Jack have truly returned, however the stigma that drove the times to the pivotal leap into a heretic future seem to be looming. Jack takes us on a journey from his demise to his second coming, which seems more like a nostalgic awakening. Enter the modern day where a young man named Jermaine seemingly intelligent enough to enter college and unfortunate enough to have an ghastly aura. The young man seems to know what is to become of the future, but his millennial birth may have been the waning curse brought up him. His love interest doesn't share the same feelings, but there is a side to her that pulls Jack from deep within him.
