This Work is an extraction of almost all of the fifty studies and research works made in Jordan in natural radioactivity background in the time domain before 2002. The study was so large to cover all of the Country twelve district and two other mixed regions of economic and social importance. It thus presents, a compiled data reference to researchers and governmental bodies, in charge of radiation protection ,scientific research environmental and health matters in Jordan. The Work also implies many innovated physics and mathematical models and procedures needed to estimate the annual effective doses and health effects from all radiation exposure pathways of environmental radioactivity and to classify the studied areas in terms of radiation doses and health effects. The fact that merits it a useful text for academic learning and research institution elsewhere in the globe. Another fact merits as such is the multidisciplinary and deep experience of the Author as Founder and Director of many nuclear, radiation protection and environmental activities in Jordan from 1980- 2008; And through which a Senior Adviser for the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resource from 1997- 2008.
About the author
Dr. Ali Mur A Jordanian national. Born in 1949. Studied School Stage in Yatta, West Bank. Got B.Sc. in Electric Power Engineering in 1974, M.Sc. in Nuclear Engineering in 1976 and PhD in 2002. He is the Founder and the Premier Director of the Nuclear Energy , Radiation Protection, and Uranium Activities , in Jordan in the period from 1980- 2008.
