The relation developed between the Oromo of Wollega and Gumuz in the past was mixture of conflict and peaceful coexistence. Even though there were strong socio economic interactions, due to claim over administrative boundaries, competitions over resources, prejudice and stereotypes and elite ambitions led the two ethnic groups in to conflicts.As a result in the post 1991 period, conflict dominated the co existence of the two ethnic groups.

About the author










Addisu Arega was born 1n 1982,in Ilubabor, Ethiopia. He graduated high school from Mettu comprehensive Secondary school, at Mettu, Ethiopia. At the age of 19 he joined Addis Ababa University and studied Political Science and International Relations. He also studied MA in Transformational Leadership and Change from The University of Greenwich.
