20 Hand-Sewn Projects to Make

About the author

Sian Hamilton has been a designer for over twenty years and has a BA (Hons) in 3D Design. Sian has always loved to sew. Introduced to sewing by her grandmother, who was a seamstress, she started sewing clothes for herself in her teenage years and then progressed to making custom wedding dresses for clients in her early career. These days, sewing is her hobby as she is the editor of Making Jewellery magazine and the author of several books on jewelry making, including Flowers and Cats, available from GMC Publications.

Summary

This book is the ideal introduction to hand sewing for children from the ages of eight and up. Most of the projects use felt as the base material because it comes in a wide range of colours, is easy to cut and doesn't fray; it can also be sewn using big needles that don't have to be razor sharp.
