Description

This book explicitly explains the electric power system, especially the Nigerian 330kV grid. It focuses on the analysis of the Nigerian 330kV grid, optimization of transmission loss minimization and maximization of bus voltage profiles. Input data for the analysis were obtained from the Power Holding Company of Nigeria (PHCN), fed into the Matlab & Simulink Version 7.5 and analyzed using Newton-Raphson iterative algorithm. Feasible and economic optimization models were devised to obtain negligible transmission loss and excellent voltage improvement not below the statutory voltage limits in all the transmission buses located in the Nigerian 330kV power system. Implementation of this research work will ensure adequate, safe, reliable and affordable electricity for Nigerians, boost industrialization and economic activities in the country.
