The rapid population growth does not match with available resource in Ethiopia even though household level family planning delivery has been put in place. This study has the objective to identify factors that influence modern contraceptive use among married women in Ethiopia. The data in the study were obtained from the 2011 EDHS. Cross tabulations were carried out at the bivariate level to assess the association between modern contraceptive use and each of the independent variables while binary multiple logistic regression analysis was used to identify the factors influencing modem contraceptive use among married women in Ethiopia. The likelihood of modern contraceptives use increased with increase in married women's age and then decreased towards the end of women's reproductive age. As a result, policy makers responsible for national family planning programs need to target husbands by constructing a message that encourages male participation in family planning. This could be through involvement of males in family planning programs.
