About the author
Kludo was born in London. He has been drawing things since he was very small (he's much bigger now). When most people stopped drawing, he didn't because he likes drawing. He has followed a tendency in life to continuously try and do only the things that he likes (and not much else). Many people have asked when he's going to get a proper job; it seems unlikely.
He has done many things for a living; from washing cars and gardening, to singing songs. He's been a Stage Manager at Music Festivals, a Stand-up Comedian, TV & Theatre Actor, Teacher, Writer, Director, Producer, Voiceover artist (doing funny voices), Radio presenter and according to him, he approaches them all in the same way - as an Artist.
He is a creative - an Artist with passion and an alternative vision. He draws (& paints) people and things he likes almost ALL THE TIME. Sometimes these are on canvas or lumps of driftwood. Sometimes people buy them to hang on their walls. Sometimes he paints on the walls.
When he works as an Actor he gets to travel a lot and that's always interesting. Sometimes it means he doesn't work at all, which can be quite useful because he has time to think, do Yoga, bake bread, play with Campervans and go swimming and surfing. He loves to travel and has recently been drawing in Morocco, France & India (where he also painted a Mural). He likes going to places just because he hasn't been there before. As a Musician he's toured the world playing music for over 20 years. He did this for a long time whilst living in a campervan. He loves telling stories and painting pictures with words, sound and music too, and makes recordings of his original songs, with his bare-hands, in his own recording studio.
His earliest memories are happy family holidays in a VW Campervan and his first car (at 14) was a Beetle. He has owned and driven Campervans of all types for 20 years and still can't fix them or keep them going on his own (but they usually have a nice paint job.) In 2005, at the end of a Tour, he moved to a bungalow by the sea and started painting, drawing and surfing, in earnest. He sings about surfing and campervans on his recent Albums "Campervan Radio", "Freedom on Four Wheels" and "The Campervan Radio Christmas Album". If you have read this far, chances are you'd enjoy them.
As a Teacher of Art and the Expressive Arts he has taught Art, English and Drama to Children from the ages of 5-18 in schools and colleges throughout the UK, and been a College Lecturer and motivational speaker. He continues to teach people to play guitar and write songs. He loves encouraging others to be creative and has been aware of, and thoroughly enjoyed, the meditative process involved in drawing and painting on a personal level for years. He is delighted to be able to offer the opportunity for others to relax, escape and be creative too, with this new collection of drawings of Kool Kampers for Colouring.
