Despite the increasing number of women in the workforce over the last few decades the presence of women in the upper corporate hierarchies is still lacking. In order to change this matter, various diversity management policies have been established. This thesis gives a systematic review on the three most commonly applied diversity policies that are affirmative action, mentoring, and diversity training. Furthermore, it focuses on the institutional theory, particularly world society perspective, in explaining the application of these diversity policies.
