Ou rencontre cette belle et grande espèce aux environs de Nasimoya (zanzibar). Elle est identiqueà celle figurée par Férussac et décrite par Deshayes, dans sa seconde édition de Lamarck, sauf qu'elle est un tant soit peu moins grande que le type qui atteint 150 millimètres de haut sur 75 millimètres de large. Les échantillons de Nasimoya ont 123 millimètres sur 62 millimètres seulement.
