Sie hat daher teil an allen geographischen Erscheinungen des Geographische Arbeiten IX. 1nordfriesischen Archipels und des festlandischen Kustenstreifens. Solange die einzelnen Küstenglieder noch nicht voneinander getrennt waren, war die Entwicklung des Küstenlandes eng geschlossen. Mit der Trennung aber begann jeder Teil seine eigene, durch die besondere geographische Lage bedingte Ent wicklung. Für Amrum begann diese Entwicklung in dem Augen blicke, als es Insel wurde. Unsere erste Frage muss daher lauten: Wann und wie ist Amrum Insel geworden?
