Politeness, Thanking and the Influence of Gender in Writing Thesis Acknowledgements

It is based on the hypothesis that politeness principles affect the performance of the acknowledgers in expressing their gratitude. Also, the acknowledger's gender may affect his/ her performance of thanking.
