Serratia marcescens is a gram negative bacterium. It belongs to the genus Serratia and family enterobacteriaceae. This bacterium produces red coloured pigments, bio-surfactants and various types of enzymes (proteases, chitinases, lipases, nucleases, laccases) they contribuates essential role in many uses.
