Description

During the past few years, considerable attention has been focused to the development of molecular structural design and nitrogen-based heterocyclic moieties in organic and medicinal chemistry. Imidazo[1,2-a]pyrazine acts as a multipurpose framework in organic synthesis and drug development. In this content, a wide range of new, modest and well-organized synthetic methods have been used to access the library of multipurpose imidazo[1,2-a]pyrazine scaffolds through microwave irradiation, conventional heating and multicomponent reactions (MCRs), which play a important role in the field of both organic synthesis and pharmaceutical chemistry. This content is an exertion to compile the progress made in synthetic methods and to demonstrate its reactivity and diverse biological activity.
