The present study was designed to compare the successful, unsuccessful and non-athlete adolescents on the variables of academic anxiety, emotional competence and career maturity. Since academic anxiety, emotional competence and career maturity play an important role in the lives of adolescents, therefore the present study will be a useful tool to get in-depth knowledge about these variables in managing anxiety level, channelizing emotions and making a wise decision in selecting a right career at a right age. The present findings can also play an imperative role in highlighting the hidden features of sports and physical activities in managing the said variables and enabling their transition towards a secure and bright adulthood.

Sonia Saini, born on 14th January,1986 has obtained Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.), M.P.Ed (Gold Medalist) and B.P.Ed (Gold Medalist) from Department of Physical Education of Panjab University, Chandigarh.She is working as an Assistant Professor (Guest Faculty) in Department of Physical Education, Panjab University, Chandigarh (INDIA)
