Description

Southern Chasu is a Bantu language spoken in Same District, at the North-Eastern Kilimanjaro region of Tanzania. This book details how, just like other Ethnic Community Languages, Southern Chasu is experiencing demographic and sociocultural pressure mainly from Kiswahili- the language of the majority. Being used only at home and some few immediate domains, the language is not well equipped to contain the pressure. This book is an alert to the native speakers, interested linguists and policy makers to take strategic measures to prevent the death of this cultural heritage.
