Tribology is the Science and Technology of friction, lubrication and wear.Primarily,Mechanical Engineers and Mathematicians are concerned with this discipline. The aim of tribology is either to find the optimum film material for a given application or to predict the sequence of events when a sliding/rolling impacting is left to generate its own intervening film. In most of the lubrication theories the bearing surfaces are assumed to be smooth, which far away from being true in reality. In fact, after having some run-in and wear the bearing surfaces develop roughness. Even some times the contamination of lubricants and materials used in design contribute to roughness. Roughness plays an important role in determining how a real object will interact with its environment. A major breakthrough development of a magnetic fluid as a lubricant has recently been achieved successfully. Uniqueness of magnetic fluid as a lubricant conventional over that the former can be retained at the desired location by an external magnetic field which beneficial to the lubrication theory.Potential application includes bio-medical application such as surgical cancer treatment, blood flow in human body
