Land is one of the most important natural resources that has to be managed properly. Like most developing countries, in Ethiopia, land degradation was a chronic problem for centuries. Though there are several factors that cause land degradation in the country, tenure insecurity among farmers has a lion share. For addressing this problem, the government has emphasized it's plan on land registration and certification program. However, there are several arguments regarding whether land titling ensures tenure security and assures land management or not. This book is therefore helpful to know about the role of land registration and certification program for sustainable land management.

Ayele Behaylu is currently working in the department of Geography and Environmental Studies in Adigrat University, Adigrat, Ethiopia. He obtained his MSc. Degree from Dilla University with the specialization of Sustainable Natural Resource Management.
