The aim of this work was to collect the chickpea (Cicer arietinum) sample from super market of Lahore - Pakistan in order to detect the microbial load that was present on the chick pea sample.To sterilize the chickpea ,gamma dose was given which was optimized at 2kGy. The microbes detected on samples of chickpea were Bacillus subtillis, Escherichia coli, Streptococcus pyogenes, Staphylococcus aureus which were confirmed by API strips.
