This book demonstrates a multidisciplinary method for integrating disciplines. In so doing it demonstrates the use of the philosophy of Bernard Lonergan and Ken Wilbur. It uses clinical cases as data to illustrate how the totally objective method of science can be integrated with the totally subjective method of family therapy. This is done by illustrating how Lonergan's transcendental method is based on the method of Western Science without the restriction of data to the physical or measurable. This allows scientific data to be integrated with subjective qualitative method, something currently badly needed in academic and scientific research. Lonergan's method is founded on consciousness and a reflection on how we come to know anything. It does not restrict the data of interest, and seeks understanding of that data through questions. In judgment it moves beyond the subjective to objectivity through authentic subjectivity. Wilber's model gives us language for describing the whole of reality. This allows the reader to use narrative as data to convey knowledge along with mathematics and statistics. This work offers an approach for the reintegration of science and non-science.
