A Journey so Near Yet Far is a book dedicated to the Turkana families whose children are not able to access the free primary and secondary education due to several impediments such as socio-economic factors, influence of culture, drought and insecurity. Development throughout the world depends on the level of education of the people. Therefore, the book suggests that the communities in Turkana region should be sensitized on the importance of taking their children to school. With the establishment of county government, it is my sincere hope that most of the challenges related to low enrollments will improve and more schools will be built within reach of the children.
