Bitter gourd is the most important cucurbitaceous vegetable crop widely cultivated in Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Kerala and Karnataka States. It is an important pharma-nutraceutical vegetable crop grown for fleshy fruits in tropical and sub-tropical regions. Production of genetically and physically pure seed at higher quantity and its preservation till the next sowing season in bitter gourd is a prerequisite requirement. Since, it involves seed production techniques like application of appropriate nutrition's and growth regulators to achieve desirable seed yield with quality. Appropriate stages of harvest and drying techniques are essential to obtain quality seeds. To tackle these problems, an investigation was carried out on seed production and post-harvest technique in bitter gourd. The findings obtained from these investigations are summarised in this book.
