ABOUT THE WORK: The Yamuna River is one of the most beautiful rivers of India. It is the biggest tributary of the Ganga in Northern India and has been a symbol of sanctity. Run-off from house drains, street disposals, sewage, fertilizers, debries, etc. the wastes through biochemical action. The physicochemical characteristics of the River water at five selected sites are expressed with their statistical analysis of various major and minor factors. In this book, readers will find the impact of various pollutants (effluents of dyeing and tannery industries, etc.) on the biology of test fish Labeo rohita and impact on the public health, especially on the inhabitants of Agra municipal area. The Book ends in recommending the strategies to give relief from the various problems aroused by the polluted water.
