Increase in population leads toward industrialization to meet demands of the country. Pharmaceutical industry being major sector plays an important role in the economic growth of Pakistan but on other hand, it is contributing in environmental pollution. Different physico-chemical parameters like pH, BOD, COD, TDS, TSS and turbidity were analyzed in waste water samples of industry. Trace hazardous pollutants were also identified in effluent by using High Pressure Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) and Thin Layer Chromatography (TLC).

Dr Ghazala Yaqub is Assistant Professor at Kinnaird College for Women. Her current work involves applications of green chemistry and monitoring of environmental pollutants.Zubi Sadiq being PhD scholar,is working on designing of biopotent heterocyclic hybrids at LCWU, Pakistan. She has also served as lecturer at King Faisal University, Saudi Arabia
