Informationen zum Autor Penny Brown trained and worked as a theatre designer for ten years before an increasing love of painting and drawing led her to illustration. She works in watercolour! graphite and most recently! cut paper collage. She has illustrated many books on craft! textiles! design! natural history and gardening. She exhibits her botanical paintings and drawings with The Society of Botanical Artists in London! Frankfurt and Spain. She has won several awards! including the prestigious Presidents Prize at the SBA exhibition in 2015. She is also a member of The South West Society of Botanical Artists and opens her studio regularly for Dorset Art Weeks. She looks forward to continuing her parallel careers in botanical art and illustration. About the author
Penny Brown trained as a theatre designer but an increasing love of drawing and painting led her to illustration. She started with craft and lifestyle books, and soon began to write and illustrate design source books for Search Press. Penny also worked on books on gardening and natural history, and in 2009 she enrolled on a course with the SBA (The Society of Botanical Artists), which greatly developed her observational and painting skills. She graduated in 2011 with a distinction and won the Award for Excellence. Since then she has exhibited with the SBA in London and throughout Europe, and was accepted as a Full Member in March 2013. She lives in Dorset, U.K.
