This book is considered very critical for those who wish to understand the detailed behaviour of most protective-oxide forming alloys, especially Pt-based alloys, in aggressive high temperature environment. These alloys are being developed to operate at higher temperatures than nickel-based superalloys (NBSAs), currently being used for production of hot section components of turbine engines. Detailed information on oxidation kinetics, oxidation mechanisms, surface and cross-sectional morphology as well as stress measurements of these alloys are contained in this book. It is hereby recommended for researchers working on advanced high temperature materials as well as students at all levels studying materials science, metallurgy, metallurgical and materials engineering, physical chemistry, materials physics and other related fields to get a copy of this book. I am sure you will never regret your action. Kindly enjoy!
