The African Union is a regional Institution that governs the member states, plays roles in conflicts resolution, political and social economic relations and acts as a force in maintaining regional peace and political stability among the members. The AU is an actor and force in regional & Legal matters within the sub-region. Finally policy prescriptions for future policies to meet the challenges are provided. Africa is suffering immensely from ongoing conflicts throughout the continent, situation whereby the AU acts as a mediator.

Leonard Opara Esq., is an Attorney and Lecturer and a Notary Public of the Supreme Court of Nigeria. Mr. Opara is the Head, department of International Law & Jurisprudence of the Nigerian Police Academy, Wudil, Kano. He is a seasoned Legal Practitioner with over a decade experience in lecturing.
