About the author

Lorraine Pe Symaco is Professor at Zhejiang University, China. She was UNESCO chair in international and comparative educational research with special reference to South East Asia and Founding Director of the Centre for Research in International and Comparative Education (CRICE) at the University of Malaya, Malaysia.Colin Brock was Honorary Professor of Education at the University of Durham, UK, and Visiting Professor of Geography at the University of Loughborough, UK. He was also UNESCO Chair of Education as a Humanitarian Response at the University of Oxford, UK.
