Students will experience repeated exposure to explicit instruction that focuses on continuous, constructive feedback. Over time, students will be able to recognize grammar errors and develop the skill to edit such mistakes, and they can improve collaboration skills through sharing quality writing with peers. Vocabulary instruction is implemented with each lesson, allowing students to make meaningful and lasting connections with words. Put All the Pieces Together is brimming with practical ideas for teachers, and includes graphic organizers and checklists for the educator to bridge what students do not know to what they need to master. The journal writing embeds the Common Core Standards to develop the writing skills of college-ready students.
