Anlässlich des 100. Jubiläums des Einsteinschen Wunderjahres 1905 wird dem wohl bedeutendsten Wissenschaftler des 20. Jahrhunderts eine Ausstellung in Berlin gewidmet, deren Katalog von Wiley-VCH verlegt wird.
Sowohl der Wandel historischer Weltbilder als auch die Bedingungen von Wissenschaftsentwicklung werden erklärt. Gleichzeitig wird der verschlungene Lebensweg Albert Einsteins vor dem Hintergrund der politischen und gesellschaftlichen Umwälzungen seiner Zeit beleuchtet. Am Schluss stehen die Auswirkungen von Einsteins Schaffen auf die Wissenschaft und Kultur der Gegenwart.
Ergänzt wird dieser Katalog durch einen bilingualen Dokumentenband. Hierbei handelt es sich um eine Sammlung wissenschaftshistorischer Quellen wie Briefe, Manuskripte und Fotografien von Personen und Objekten.

About the author
Professor Jürgen Renn ist "Einstein-Experte" und Direktor am Max-Planck-Institut für Wissenschaftsgeschichte in Berlin. Zu seinen Arbeitsschwerpunkten zählen die Entstehung der Mechanik in der Antike, Wechselwirkungen von praktischem und theoretischem Wissen seit der Renaissance, der Übergang von der klassischen zur modernen Physik, die Entstehung der Relativitätstheorie und der Einsatz neuer Medien in der Wissenschaftsgeschichte. Professor Renn war Koordinator der Ausstellung 'Albert Einstein - Ingenieur des Universums', die von Mai bis September 2005 in Berlin stattfand.
