This book is an attempt to present traditional crafts of Multan.The province of Punjab is the land of art, culture, heritage, civilization, history and various innovative skills that the people of this fertile zone are blessed with. When we talk about ceramic(tiles,blue pottery) art of Pakistan,Multan is the most worth mentioning area and is cultural, historic and artistic city of Punjab. Lahore Museum and even some artistic work are displayed in London Museum to represent the rich ceramic art of Pakistan. The multani tiles is very famous and a center of attraction for the interior designers, therefore it is proudly displayed and used for the interior of important buildings like, President house etc.Multan is also called handmade crafts city like embroidery work,bamboo work or wooden work etc. Basically how can show implement the Multani tiles motifs in to the home interior. It blends geometrical and floral compositions in a new perspective.Tombs culture art etc show the our country tradition.This significant art is transferred carefully from one generation to the other and only revolves around few families, inheriting these skills from their ancestors.

I am Rabia Shaukat. I had done BFA textile designing from college of Art & Design University of the Punjab Lahore Pakistan. My subjects are fabric dyeing, hand screen printing, woven design, graphic art studio, textile sculpture project, silk paint etc. And in future studies I want to get my M.Phil & PhD in textiles and want to do my own business.
