Forest resources are much of importance and are of economic value to man. Since times immemorial man has been exploiting these resources. Man has become greedy as he started using or better says abusing the forest resources in the form of timber, fodder, fuel wood, excessive grazing , medicinal plant extraction etc. Shankeracharya forest ecosystem has been designated as one of the reserved and protected forest ecosystem of the valley. The main aims and objectives of my work are to document the impact of biotic interferences in the Shankeracharya forest ecosystem. Because of being reserved forest, still there was observed some major biotic interference due to: Forest fires Disturbances due to security forces Disturbance due to tourism Vehicular activities in the forest Deforestation etc.

BASHARAT MUSHTAQ passed M.Sc in Environmental Sciences in First division from the University Kashmir in 2008.I've started Ph.d programme through Barkatullah University Bhopal in 2010 to till date. During Ph.d in 2011 I've been awarded as JRF in LAWDA sponsored research project.Besides I remain actively engaged in several EIA research projects.
