Arthritis was induced in knee joint cavity of the right hind leg by intra-articular injection of 0.1ml of 1% carrageenan in all groups except control group. Animals are divided into five different groups such as Normal control, arthritis control, Standard A (MOOV) treated group, Standard B (RUMALAYA) treated group and test drug treated group. Catalase activity, Alkaline Phosphatase, MDA and Uric acid were significantly (p 0.001) altered or comes close to the control group in test drug treated group. Paw volume, Knee diameter and body weight were altered in test drug treated group as compare to reference standard A and B. So we concluded that VPR-011 show significant anti-arthritic activity and better efficacy than other reference standard drugs (MOOV) and (RUMALAYA).
