Tsunami is a catastrophic event caused severe damage to the south and southeast countries with huge population loss of more than 3 lakh people. Micropaleontology is a fascinating discipline, particularly Foraminifera and Ostrcoda are very vital by which we can identify the paleotsunami sediments. The data base generated from the present study of 2004 tsunami sediments using these microfauna will be a very useful tool and proxy to record the paleotsunami events.
