Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy (1809-1847) war ein deutscher Komponist und Pianist. Er gilt als einer der bedeutendsten Musiker der Romantik. Er gründete die erste Musikhochschule in Deutschland und löste die Wiederentdeckung Bachs aus.
