This book covers a wide range of topics - as the author states - Judaism informs all aspects of life. Through his observations on current events and ancient ideas the author demonstrates that Judaism is a living tradition offering guidance to all. Almost daily our ability to communicate and share ideas grows. New technologies allow us to "speak" to the entire world instantly. This is a blessing and a curse. Every new advance brings the potential for good and evil. Our "instant access" can be a vehicle for love and understanding. Our future lies in our ability to turn to each other in dialogue. No matter how our ability to communicate changes it is the content that will create our future. No matter how crazy the world gets it is our inner world, the world of ideas that protects us from harm. Empires disappear with the passing of time but ideas remain.

Rabbi Dr. Yaakov Thompson has spent more than thirty years in the American rabbinate. In addition to his pulpit work, he has written for several Jewish newspapers and published dozens of articles. Currently he is the host of a weekly TV show on Jewish Life TV and the producer of a documentary series, "Reliving the Holocaust: Through their Eyes."
