Some issues are expected in rice industry including: dust, fly ash, noise, suffocation, waste water contaminants and solid waste etc. These issues can badly effect on the health of workers such as breathing difficulties, chronic respiratory disorder, skin allergic reactions etc. Poor maintenance of machines can cause serious injury of workers also. The current work provides a detailed study of health and safety condition which were observed at rice mill. Recommendations to improve the health and safety condition are also addressed and discussed.

Syeda Amber Fatima is currently working at Kinnaird College for Women, Lahore, Pakistan. She is an expert in environmental sciences especially occupational health and safety, solid waste management and environmental auditing. She has supervised many research students on mentioned topics and also is the author of various publications.
