Paintings can be preserved only if they are kept in adequate environments. This book presents possible solutions to how the paintings' environment can be improved mainly by stabilising the relative humidity and temperature within a specific range in order to limit conservation problems such as detachment of paint and biological deterioration. It is possible to achieve such micro-climate control in challenging exhibiting and storage environments by covering paintings with protective materials.
