Oscillator strength of a transition provides useful information about how strong a transition is as compared to other transitions originating from the same energy level. It has significant importance in various fields of science such as plasma physics, radiation physics and astrophysics. Since the emission and absorption spectra of many astronomical bodies are comparable to the measured spectra in laboratory, therefore, accurately measured transition probabilities (or f-values) in laboratory are required while studying the dynamics of stellar atmosphere and plasma. Photoionization cross-section, on the other hand, is also of great significance due to its numerous applications in space research, astrophysics, radiation protection, laser designing and controlled thermonuclear research. The data on the oscillator strengths and photoionization cross section from the excited states of calcium and strontium is least reported in literature. This book, therefore, provides new and useful information on oscillator strengths and photoionization cross-section to the scientific community.
