The exponential increase in population and rapid pace of industrialization in whole of the country are likely to aggravate considerably the problem of pollution in the near future. Sugar is one of the basic commodities required by the society and the total annual demand for between the demand and production, more number of sugar factories will be needed in future. Obviously the factories load contributed by such factories is also likely to increase several times, unless certain preventive, curative and mitigative efforts are launched towards pollution control. The present study is confined to review the pollution control strategies adopted by M/s Kanoria Sugar & General Manufacturing Company Ltd., Captainganj, Padrauna .
