This book presents in depth analysis for three interconnected problems in bone poroelasticity. In the first problem an analytical solution for a porous cylindrical annular disk under unconfined compression is developed. In the second problem an experimental technique for isolation and loading the osteons is presented. The experimental results are combined with the analytical results that obtained for the cylindrical porous disk to estimate the permeability and the poroelastic properties of a single osteon. In the last problem a new model for fluid transport in bone tissues is presented. Unlike previous models, this model adopts a theory of nested porosity in bones. The flow between two levels of porosity is being estimated in this model. This work gives insight into bone mechanotransduction, microgravity and fluid and waste transports in bones.
