The teaching of African literature has been the subject of debate in African universities and globally. Indeed the very term African Literature has been a bone of contention for the academic community for many decades in the last century. Publications: Oral Literature of the Kalenjin and Oral Literature of the Embu and Mbeere. Prof. Chesaina has diplomatic expertise, having served as Kenyäs High Commissioner to South Africa.
