Education has become pertinent in defining the state of nations. Since the collapse of the Berlin Wall, globalization has played a prominent role in determining the innovations and trends of development paradigm. The world is now becoming a global village, where people including those in the most remote parts of the world are increasingly interconnected. Globalization portrays a world that is borderless. Globalization therefore created the coming together of political, social, cultural, economic and religious factors driven by the development of information and communication technologies. It has increased interdependence and interconnectivity between different countries and cultures around the globe. Resonating with these concerns, the book "State of Education and Globalization" made a reflection on the impact and implications of teaching and learning processes and systems in development dynamics with special reference to the global south. About the author
Jacinta A. Opara is a leading scholar, President of African Association for Teaching and Learning and a Visiting Professor at Universidad Azteca,Chalco-Mexico. She received her PhD from Universidad Central de Nicaragua. She was trained as a teacher at University of Ibadan and graduated from University of Nigeria and University of Port Harcourt.
