Bivalves (Mollusca) of the Neogene of L'Oranie (North-West of Algeria)

Bivalves of the Neogene deposits of the North West of Algeria constitute a useful Tool to understand the ancient environments. In fact, we did find them in almost all mio-pliocene facies of the three important basins of l'Oranie (Bas Chelif basin, Tafna basin & M'sirda basin).They showed significant diversity and shells are often highly well preserved. Pecinidae is the most abundant family in all studied sites.

Linda SATOUR is full teacher-researcher at the Laboratory of Stratigraphic Paleontology & Paleoenvironments, in the University of Oran2/Pôle Belgaid, Algeria. She has her Phd degree in December 2012 which the main subject was about the neogene bivalves of L¿Oranie (North-West of Algeria):systematic, paleoecology & taphonomy.
