This book is a follow-up of an earlier title Research in Social Sciences: Preliminaries covering a component of fieldwork, which was not covered in the previous title. Social research basically deals with human subject and hence the need to have a keen approach if data collected has to be authentic and yield desirable results. In this regard, the issues given prominence intends to demystify field work as a subject in social sciences, how to gain access in the field, especially dealing with gatekeepers interacting with them as well as getting the most reliable information from them. In addition, the role of the researcher in the field has been highlighted including the ethical issues biding researchers while dealing with human subject; also the aspect of leaving the field has been included to conclude the fieldwork task together with the processes of data analyses. The purpose of all this being to induce social researchers on this major activity which is meant to accomplish their noble task as well as prepare desirable environment for future activities of research.
