The book is thus about socioeconomic development of marginalized community transitioning from nomadic life in semi-desert Somalia to the freezing winter of North America. The author is part of displaced nomads with transitioning social capital, as well as a facilitator of the social transformation of this community.

About the author










S. Warfa Osman, PhD, hails from a nomadic setting in East Africa. He is now focused on mobilizing the social capital of his nomadic community. Prof. Warfa Osman works on OD, health disparities research, and socioeconomic development of communities in transition.
