This book critically examined the major sources of community noise in Kaduna metropolis part of Nigeria. A total of sixty (60) noise sources were identified and measured. Six hundred and ten (610) data were collected and analyzed. Questionnaires were also administered to respondents to evaluate their levels of awareness to noise in the metropolis. Sound level meter, Testo 816, and Data Handy Logger, DB-525, were used for the measurement. Major noise sources identified and measured are, Vehicles, Spraying workshops, Panel beating workshops, Mechanic workshops, Military weapons, Aircraft, Grain grinding machines etc. The maximum and minimum noise levels measured are 123dB(A) and 65dB(A) respectively.

About the author










Haruna was born in 1964 in Kogi state, Nigeria. He obtained his elementary school in 1976 and O' level in 1987. He obtained his first and second degrees from Bayero University, Kano in Nigeria in 1994 and 1998 respectively. In 2010,he obtained his PhD degree in Physics (Acoustics) from Nigerian Defense Academy. He is happily married with children.
