Transition metal dichalcogenides have been extensively studied during last two decades. Tungsten Dichalcogenides find a wide range of applications in the field of catalysis and as a lubricant at high temperature and pressure.WTe2 has been widely used for solar energy conversion in Photoelectrochemical (PEC) solar cell due to small band gap and high chemical stability.

Physics is the subject of Dr. Priyanka Desai's bachelor's and master's degrees. In the same field, she finished her Master of Philosophy in 2011. In the same field, she finished her doctoral work in 2014. She is currently employed as a physics assistant professor. The growth and characterisation of crystals is her primary area of study.
