The Book cover an experimental study related to irrigation water requirement by European dill (Anethum graveolens L.)under varying water table conditions. Irrigated agriculture is essential to feed the ever growing population in the world. The area under irrigation accounts for 17 per cent of the available cultivated land which yields 40 per cent of the world food. Renewable average water resources are finite and constant. The efficiency of the irrigation water can be enhanced by minimizing the losses due to runoff, deep percolation, seepage and evaporation. Irrigation scheduling is an important management aspect of efficient crop production. The key elements in irrigation scheduling are the amount of water to be applied and the timing of water application. European dill is commonly known as Bideshi sounj (fennel) or sowa in India. It is an annual, glabrous aromatic herb. It contains huge collection of review of literature, experimental methodology, results and discussion. About the author
The author was born on 21st August, 1980 at Rourkela (Orissa). He completed B. Sc. Ag.(Honors) from OUA&T, Bhubaneswar in 2003; M.Sc. in Soil Science from G.B.Pant University of Agriculture and Technology, Pantnagar in 2006 on Irrigation Water Requirement of European dill (Anethum graveolens L.) under varying water table conditions.
